***Gun Change*** - 5th Series - #2

We are at our second gun change of the day at 12:07 pm.

Dog #48 started with the new gunners at 9:53 am. We ran 16 dogs complete this test (#65 being the last one) in approximately two hours and forty-six minutes. The dogs seem to be completing the test a bit faster at approximately 10 minutes per dog.

With this batch of gunners and out of the 16 dogs we have had 2 No Birds (both on the same dog and still needs to have a completed rerun), 2 handles and 2 pick ups.

We will be starting back with dog # 66 Buddy with handler Dave Rorem.

Now for something fun. I googled "Field Trial Gunners Image" and this is what popped up. Can anybody name all the gunners from 2017 NARC?

This Land Quad is proving to be challenging with 5 handles and 1 no bird/rerun already.

Our next running dog will be the defending champion #47 Google with handler Alan Pleasant.

Here we are at our 2nd Gun Change on the 3rd day of competition and our second day of the 4th Series Water Triple. This gun change happened after #77 Flex completed his test at 12:44 pm.

Since our last gun change we have only had one no-bird/rerun and no more handles.

Our temps have reached 82 degrees and according to the Weather App we are expected to get up to 85! The wind is hanging in there at 9 mph coming from the NNW.

We have 24 dogs to complete this series and this day. Our next running dog with #79 George!

***Gun Change*** 4th Series

We have reached our first gun change of the day after dog #49 Camo completed his test at 9:44 am!

A very thin sheeting of clouds has moved in but is not affecting the lighting on the field. We have had a pick up in the wind. It is coming in from the north at about 10 mph.

The dog work continues to be consistent. Since this test started yesterday afternoon, we have had 3 handles and 3 dogs with no bird (two of them having double no bird).

We have been informed that the plan is to complete 4th Series today and that will be the only one we will run for the day!

As we get ready to get back to the running dogs, please remember to thank the Veterans today.

***Gun Change*** 2nd & 3rd Series - Conditions

Our second gun change of the day happened after #53 Hex finished his series at 11:16 am.

The dog work is continuing along on a good clip. Temperatures is similar to yesterday. Lighting conditions have been steady today with no variations in shadows to effect the test. The water has some duckweed growing in it. Last night the floating growth was confined to the back area of the pond. This morning the growth was all the way to the cattails but has now retreated to the far shore opening up the pool. Winds remain light and steady. Our temperatures are expect to climb to the lower 80's today.
